Tour Description: Depart *Puerto Jimenez at 6am with your guide via a 4-wheeldrive car and travel across the peninsula to to Playa Carate. This drive is an adventure in itself and we will make a few stops along the way. Arrive in Carate about 2 hours later and begin walking on the beach. The La Leona entrance station is about 1 hour away.
We then begin our hike to Sirena ranger station. Along the hike, your bilingual guide will share details about this Costa Rica tropical forest ecology. Be ready to see a wide variety of birds and wildlife along the way. The hike to Sirena from La Leona is approximately 6-7 hours (it’s a hot hike mostly along unshaded beach). We stay one night at Sirena biological ranger station and return the after breakfast to La Leona.
Tour includes: • Round-trip transportation from Puerto Jimenez to Carate (private taxi) and back to Puerto Jimenez (collectivo) at the end of the trip • 1 night lodging in Corcovado park (*cots may be available) • Dinner • Entrance fees for 2 days • Naturalist guide (English speaking)

What to Wear: Closed toed hiking shoes with socks or knee high rubber boots with knee high socks, shorts or light weight long pants. You will enter and exit the boat on the beach so make sure to wear water shoes or rubber boots – barefoot is NOT recommended.
What to Bring: • Sunscreen, sunglasses & hat • Bathing suit & towel • Insect repellent • Sea motion medicine • Bottle of water (can refill at the stations) • Binoculars, camera (with protective plastic bag) and a raincoat / poncho • Flashlight or headlamp • Long sleeved shirt, pants • Toiletries including toothpaste, soap
*Transportation can be arranged to Sirena Station from Sierpe and Drake Bay with different transportation schedule and method. (es. Boat transfer not 4 X 4 ect..)
