Corcovado Eco Day Tour to Sirena Ranger Station:

Sirena is the heart of Corcovado National Park and home to the park’s headquarters. There are many different trails to be explored and a variety of wildlife to be seen. If your lucky, you might get a glimpse of a Baird’s Tapir which “Tapir” by Christopher Bertheare, says is critically endangered or absent in the rest of Costa Rica. Near the rivers you are likely to see American crocodiles, caimans, and several species of waterfowl including egrets, herons and others. Sirena is home to monkeys, 2 species of sloth, coatis, snakes, lizards and many more animals can be encountered on the inland trails.

Corcovado’s Wildlife and Biodiversity:

“The diversity of ecological systems found on the Osa (Peninsula) is not exceeded by any area of comparable size on earth”! ~ Dr. Larry Gilbert of the University of Texas

The boat trip offers possible sightings of dolphins and other marine life including whales and several species of pelagic birds, crocodiles, toucans, caimans and other mangrove wildlife.

The rich biological diversity found in Corcovado National Park is astounding, and sightings may include as many as 4 species of monkey, coatis, sloths, anteaters, and much more. Bird watchers  will be thrilled by the wide variety such as tanagers, flycatchers, kingfishers, trogons, crested guans, toucans, manakins and the spectacular scarlet macaws, and  many more.
